In the years since Facebook’s $1.5 billion acquisition of Instagram, the photo-sharing platform has become a huge player in the beauty and fashion industry, a key driver of growth in a sector that traditionally relies on social media for its growth.
But there are still a lot of questions about how Instagram fits into the beauty industry.
How can Instagram do it all?
And how do you get your hair cut in 2.5 minutes?
That’s the challenge facing Instagram’s new head, CEO Kevin Systrom.
The company has been slow to build a fully fledged beauty product in the past, but now that Instagram has made a billion dollars, there are a lot more people asking questions.
“You’re seeing a lot, a lot people asking, ‘Is this really the same thing?'”
Systrom told The Verge.
“I’m like, ‘I’m sure this is, but it’s not, because there’s no Instagram for me.'”
Systrom said Instagram’s biggest challenge has been figuring out how to scale the service to the billion-plus users it now has.
Instagram’s main challenge, he said, has been scaling to a massive platform that is now nearly 100 million users.
Instagram currently has more than 2.7 billion monthly active users.
And Systrom said he expects that number to grow to 3.5 to 4 billion users by the end of the year.
To do that, Systrom says the company will need to be more aggressive in marketing its beauty products to these users, including launching a product that is a part of a social-media-driven trend.
Systrom also plans to launch a subscription service that will allow users to purchase products individually.
But he’s also focused on making the service more accessible to a broader audience, as well as making it easier for people to share products.
Instagram has already launched a new beauty-focused app, and it’s planning to add a new Instagram photo-based app soon.
For now, the service will be able to only be accessed through Instagram Stories, and Systrom doesn’t expect that to change in the future.
Instagram hasn’t yet revealed how much it will charge for each Instagram post.
Instagram is offering a free trial of the service.
The free trial will allow customers to try out the service for 30 days, with unlimited Instagram posts and a $10 monthly fee to continue.
The subscription will be priced at $19.99 a month for 12 months.
Instagram will also offer a $15 per-month premium service that includes a full-time, paid Instagram account and the ability to create a private Instagram account.
It will cost $19 a month, with 12-month free plans available.
